Stefan W. Simpson

As Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer at BentOak Capital, Stefan Simpson helps lead the firm’s operations, financial management, and compliance initiatives while contributing to its long-term vision and strategy.

Guided by a belief that integrity, stewardship, and service form the foundation of lasting impact, Stefan is passionate about building systems and structures that allow people and the firm to thrive. He views compliance and operational excellence not as boxes to check, but as vital tools that empower the BentOak team to focus on what truly matters: serving clients with excellence and building trusted relationships that endure.

A proud graduate of Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business, Stefan earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2011. After several years in banking operations and compliance, he joined BentOak Capital in 2016, where he has been instrumental in developing the firm’s compliance framework and scalable business processes.

Stefan holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP®) designations, as well as a Texas Life and Health Insurance License.

Beyond his professional role, Stefan is deeply committed to his community and serves as Treasurer of the Weatherford Noon Lions Club, Board Member of the Aledo Education Foundation, and Board Member of the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. He considers these roles extensions of his purpose—to leave a legacy of faith, family, and friendship through service and leadership.

When away from the office, Stefan enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active at the gym, and sharing life with family and friends. He and his wife, Cathy, are proud parents of their two children, Landon and Charlotte, and together they strive to live out a purpose centered on faith, growth, and gratitude.
